Please see the city email from Development Services regarding payback of deferred rent owed by Section 8 tenants:

Hi Mike –

Thanks for your note. I appreciate you helping to bring together property owners to learn more about the Long Beach Emergency Rental Assistance Program (LB-ERAP) yesterday.

Yes, Section 8 tenants can get assistance from LB-ERAP. In addition, Housing Authority staff also shared with me that they can also help their Section 8 tenants to recalculate the amount of their income they owe each month in rent going forward based on their new lower household incomes. This may also be able to assist landlords by providing a larger amount directly from the Housing Authority.
