Long Beach Water and Sewer Rate Increase – July 14, 2021

Good Afternoon,

The Long Beach Water Department is proposing to increase water and sewer rates effective October 21st. You can protest if you are the owner of the account, which I assume many of you are. I think it is very bad timing to increase water and sewer rates when many of you haven’t been able to collect your deferred rent owed due to your tenants having too high of income when applying to the City or State. Emails need to be sent to [email protected] and I would copy the email elected list below.

Proposed draft email for your consideration to send:

I am opposed to the proposed LB Water and Sewer rate increases being considered by the Water Commission at their hearing on August 26th. I am a rental housing provider and as such have not received my deferred rent owed to me by my tenants because of federal and state tenant required income guidelines. This means I am still out thousands of dollars and now the Water Department wants to increase water and sewer rates that I pay for my tenants??? This is wrong and I am strongly opposed. My buildings are located at “x” and I have “x” number units (so that they get the full number of accounts that are opposed). Please do not pass this.
