October 14, 2024, marks 40 years since my family made the courageous decision to leave everything behind in Mexico and cross the dangerous desert with eight children, in search of a better life. My parents’ bravery, sacrifice, and resilience are the foundation of who I am today. Several years ago, I filmed a documentary series that captures what life was like in Mexico, our journey crossing the border, and the hard work we put in as a family, working in the garlic fields of the Central Valley. Up until now, I’ve only shared small clips of the series.
But in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and our 40th anniversary, I’m excited to announce that we will be releasing one episode every week throughout October. The first episode drops today! I invite you to watch and reflect on our journey. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way.
